Carmen Melgarejo

Founder and Director

Carmen is from Spain and has a background in Archaeology and Biology. She earned a BSc (Honours) in Natural Sciences (Biology) from The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK. She studied infectious diseases and focused on the genetic evolution of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, for her final project. In 2016, she began allocating a portion of her income and savings to purchase mosquito nets and medications, which she delivered to various communities in Africa.
In 2021, she completed a Master's in Entrepreneurship at the Instituto Pensamiento Positivo, Madrid, Spain, with the aim of founding Mission Malaria. The initiative uses 21st-century tools to expand the project’s reach and deliver greater value in a sustainable way.

Olga Fernandez

Deputy Director

A woman who defines herself as a neighbor of this universe, Olga has a background in Social Work and Coaching. With experience working in two regional NGOs and a professional trajectory that now defines her as a Writer, Speaker, and Trainer in Personal Development. Olga joins Mission Malaria after completing her training as an entrepreneur in a master's program, where she finds what she had been asking for a long time: a purpose to help through education and awareness in Africa. She joined the team in 2023 with the intention of delivering the gifts and talents that have been given to her in the service of others.

Isabel Larringan

Medical Director

Isabel holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country. Her professional career has been focused on general psychiatry, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and family therapy.
She has participated in prevention campaigns for substance abuse led by the FAD (Foundation for Aid Against Drug Addiction), chaired by the Queen of Spain.
While in Mexico City, she was part of a team associated with the Houston Galveston Institute, involved in family therapy for socioeconomically disadvantaged groups.

Raquel Obiang

Director of Education

Raquel Obiang is a professional chef, graduated from the Cordoba Hospitality School. She resided in London for 14 years, where her twin daughters were born, before moving to the UAE, where she has been living in Dubai for 12 years and has been dedicated to teaching for the past 7 years.
Due to her African roots, her commitment to eradicating Malaria is total, as she suffered from the disease in her childhood.

Julia Rodriguez

Asesora Financiera

Julia holds a degree in Finance with additional training in Data Analysis.

Her professional experience includes key roles in banking and start-ups, where she gained a deep understanding of financial management and strategic analysis.

She joined the Mission Malaria team in 2024, driven by her desire to contribute to the well-being of others through her knowledge and passion for her work. Julia brings a holistic perspective and a strong commitment to sustainability and financial excellence to every project.

Óscar Ignacio Sauras 

Secretary

Óscar Ignacio Sauras is a lawyer committed to social justice and human rights. Graduating in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, he has dedicated his career to advocating for those in greatest need, participating in organisations that provide free legal assistance to marginalised communities during his student years. After graduating, he joined a law firm focused on representing individuals with low income and collaborates with the Duty Solicitor scheme in providing Free Legal Assistance. He currently runs his own law practice (Mandataria) and continues to work towards a fairer and more inclusive judicial system.

Pablo Rajkovic

Anthropologist

Graduating from the University of Seville, he has higher studies in sound for audiovisuals and performances, as well as training in music production. His experience includes fieldwork in indigenous communities in southern Colombia and in contexts of violence. He has worked as a sound technician and music producer in media such as video games and short films, and has been a teacher of English and music production. He joins Mission Malaria to design and carry out the necessary fieldwork to maximise the impact of efforts made in the communities, as well as to compose the soundtrack for their social media.
